have had numerous back surgeries and have been on it for about 12 years now off and on. works better with less side effects than any hting else I have used. I have used a lot of diffrent things! |

I was given this drug for post reconstructive acl surgery. It caused constipation and I became EXTREMELY sleepy. However this did NOT elivieate my knee pain. I had to change drugs. |

good for pain but caused bad constipation,anxiety/night sweats upon stopping the med.but worked well for kidney stone pain. |

causes some constipation, I always drink 6oz. of prune juice every night, problem solved. A great chronic pain releiver. |

Better than all other pain medications for breakthrough pain, works fast and doesn't put you to sleep like Morphine. Morphine is far better for pain but causes bad constipation, and when being taken orally you need roughly 1.5 times the morphine to equal oxycodone's pain relief. So like 30mg of oxycodone is roughly equal to 45mg's of morphine. Morphine sustained release or MS Contin works better than oxycontin because it lasts longer and offers more relief just need to get the Mg's correct for proper pain relief. |

I had a biopsy and the next day after surgery I took 1 tab. It worked fine but then I guess the anesthesia wore off and I had to take 2 tabs. It did make me woozy :) also couldn't do a #2 ( take fiber or coffee lol ). If you need more of the medication the Doctor has to write you a new percription :( I thought I could call my doctors office and have them call it in.. Overall it helped me get through 5 or 6 hours before reload . |

I was given the generic for oxycontin, and found that it had no effect whatsoever controlling my pain. I will never again allow the pharmacist to give me anything other than oxycontin. |
