Click to report rating    11/17/09   4     4     3     4   I am a 54 yrs old woman, has been a CNA most my working career, I damaged my back several times, 4 herniated disk, pinched nerves etc. The pain goes on. I get little relief when the nerves pinched but it is helped alot when I take the hydro. with flexeral. I have taken it off and on for years, and it proves safe and non addictive on me. I just wish L&I would fix my back, I have worked hard all my life and want to continue to do so. If I don't have pain relief. I don't see how I can continue on  :)

Click to report rating    2/23/09   5     1     5     5   Very good in relieving pain but one super bad thing is that it is very addicting. If the doctor gives you this I would recommend asking for a non narco med but get both meds and use the hydro only if 2 of the non narco meds wont work after taking this med you;ll love its effects but hate its addction.  :)

Click to report rating    2/16/09   5     5     4     5   Works well for lower back pain. Doesn't leave me feeling drugged or out of it. Doctors just don't want to keep filling prescription.  :)

Click to report rating    1/29/09   2     4     4     4   I was on hydrocodone/APAP 7.5/750 for a little over a week to help with the pain I have from multiple buldging disks in my neck. I had to ask my doctor if there was anything else I could take with it because the pain was still that intense. He switched me to Oxycodone/APAP 5/325 and I feel the same. Neither of these has relived me of the pain and I'm barely able to drive to & function at work from the pain. I don't know if it's possible that the drug abuse of my younger years has affected by bodies ability to process pharmaceuticals OR my pain is just that severe.  :)

Click to report rating    11/23/08   3     2     2     2   ONCE U ARE ON THIS YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY VIEWED AS a "junkie" and even with a legit condition to require medication of the pain, and having been on them for three years, the doctors and pharmacists will all still look at you as though you are "drug seeking" when you want a dosage increase, or God forbid, when nature runs its course and you become tolerant and require another drug to combat your pain issues. It is a vicious cycle which you did not ask to be placed into. Very unfair and it is if the medical professionals conveniently forget all that they know about the dangers of untreated pain when they have to shell out any type of opiate pain medications.  :(

11/4/08   3     3     4     5   Drug does not handle chronic pain, waste of money unless you want to take it every three hours. For chronic pain, better to try extended released MS Contin. Hydrocodone elevates my blood pressure and gives me incredible headaches. True this is a very abused med...not addictive if you are in true chronic pain.  :)

Click to report rating    7/19/08   5     5     5     5   This Drug is very effective for me. I have had six lower back surgerys three knees and three shoulder surgerys. I am waiting on neck surgery 7/29/08 and prefer no other drug.  :)

Click to report rating    7/19/08   5     4     1     5   I have chronic headaches and bouts with severe migraines - for whatever reason this drug (5/500 dosage) works wonders for me for my headaches & migraines that don't send me to the hospital. For the migraines, though, it blocks the pain - but I can still sense that the pressure is there. I tolerate this very well in low doses (2-3 pills/day) but when I was taking 4-6 per day I was foggy-headed too much. A word of warning - do not take more than you need to. Getting off from Vicodin, especially when your Doctor doesn't help you through it, can be very rough. They say that the withdrawal isn't as bad if you're using it for pain & not recreation... it's pretty unpleasant even without abusing it. For me, Vicodin is very hard to come by - too many pressures from the DEA. The drug is dangerous in the wrong hands, but keeping it from legit pain sufferers that benefit from it is uncool and sad. Makes me wish I was still a hoodlum - at least then I would be able to get it when I needed it.  :)

4/23/08   5     5     5     5   This drug saved my life. I used it for a period of two weeks, waiting for a root canal appointment when I had the WORST toothaches EVER. This was wonderful. I think the ONLY problem is that it made me a little lightheaded and I am finding myself WANTING to take it for no reason...like I feel slightly addicted to it. And it's been months since I took it.  :)

Click to report rating    10/29/07   5     4     5     5   I have to say this is one of the best painkilling drugs ive taken. Its not too strong and doesnt make me out of it, yet it zaps pain and lasts as long as its meant to. Its not for severe pain (though doctors like to think it is) but for moderate pain it works amazingly well. I feel its a great drug to take for chronic pain too, though again doctors like to say its not.  :)

Click to report rating    4/22/07   3     5     5     4   Yeah, Hydrocodone and oxycodone are entirely different chemicals, but hydrocodone is a much weaker pain killer. If you want to kick the hell out of your pain use oxycodone!!! I have use both and oxycodone makes hydrocodone feel like taking a baby aspirin!!!! If you never have taken a narco drug then hydrocodone will be a blessing, but in time it will lose its effectiveness. Oxycodone on the other hand "at least for me" has not lost its effectiveness and been using it for over 3 years!!! All you people that are against narco meds for us that are in pain "then dont take them!!!" Oh, btw, hydrocodone is also a narco drug :) I have been on oxycodone for over 3 years 4pills 10/325 a day and I am not turn into some drug addict wacko!!! Thank God for drugs like oxycodone that can give us "that want a normal life" to have one!!!!!!!!!!!! :)  :)

Click to report rating    3/15/07   4     4     4     4   This medication works for me. I wouldn't be able to work taking anything stronger and don't want the dangers of taking oxycodone. BTW, they are NOT the same. Hydrocodone and oxycodone are entirely different chemicals.  :)

Click to report rating    1/26/07   1     1     1     5   I am having back surgery. The MD has given me this drug. It is cheap. Other than the price, it is worthless. I take two every 2-5 hours and barely have any relief. The level of tylenol in it is dangerous. AVOID  :(
