Click to report rating    7/24/08   5     1     5     5   I loved the relief from panic I felt and the regularity in my sleep pattern. However, the food cravings were intense. Honestly though I am considering going on it again as it is one of the few drugs that doesn't over stimulate me or mimic the effects of anxiety and helps my panic. I will just have to ignore the hunger pain and keep to a limited amount of calories a day and exercise and see if that changes anything this go around. I have been on almost every SSRI on the market including Cymbalta, one of the newest and they all feel over stimulating, very frustrating :(  :)

Click to report rating    9/26/07   3     4     4     3   Little too early to mention effectiveness (10 days). But I feel compelled to say this: The higher the dose the LESS sedation you experience! If you did your research (ie. google search) then you should know this. I started on 30mg/day & only felt tired from the first 3 doses (15mg twice daily). After that I feel more energized after a dose than I do tired. This is because it takes higher doses to get a more pronounced noradrenalin/norepinephrine effect (30mg/day+), thus counteracting its anti-histamine effects (which are what makes you feel tired). I just hope my mood lifts soon! Luckily I get this free on NHS (UK).  :)

Click to report rating    6/26/07   1     1     1     1   I took this drug for 2 days. It knocked me out then made me very hungry. It also made me feel Homicidal! To my friends I'm very funny but on the flip side I've felt suicidal many times before. However I wouldn't hurt a fly (without good cause) ...but when the urge to hurt my own child surfaced (and to pick a fight with anyone else who was around also) it scared me to death! I locked myself in the basement for a day or so until the feelings passed. Has anyone else had this sort of rage as a side effect?  :(

Click to report rating    4/27/07   5     1     3     3   I took 30 mg of Remeron for treatment of Anorexia Nervosa and depression. It made me feel incredibly better mood wise, but I craved carbohydrates constantly and gained 70 pounds in 6 months. I'm not taking it anymore for obvious reasons.  :|

Click to report rating    2/26/07   4     1     4     1   Had bad side effects from taking Remeron slept too long - like 15 hours on half dosage! Was getting wild bursts of anger. Canadian pharmacies do not have the same list of side effects as Organon provides with sample boxes. The sample boxes list of side effects are way more serious than what Canadian pharmacies provide to patients - in particular Pharma Plus  :|

Click to report rating    1/31/07   4     3     5     5   (My first anti-depressant 15mg) Fantastic sleep aid, but leaves me with reduced motivation (lethargic), somewhat cloudy/heavy head, but I still am motivated to workout 4-5 days a week. No weight gain or increased appetite issues for me.  :)

Click to report rating    1/15/07   5     5     5     5   I'm a new user of Remeron, but so far it is great. Helps with insomnia that my SSRI makes worse. The combo of Lexapro and Remeron is so great for me. Remeron is great mood elevator and anti-anxiety as well. If your SSRI is keeping you awake, ask to add 15mg of Remeron.  :)

Click to report rating    1/14/07   4     1     5     4   Unfortunately while effective for some people, the area targeted also knocks out the brains' appetite control centre ( professional information). As a result most people tend to overeat greatly resulting in substantial weight gains. If an SNRI is needed or as part of a drug cocktail, Wellbutrin should be considered if weight gain will be a problem  :)

Click to report rating    12/11/05   5     1     5     5   Works great for insomnia related depression. Side effect of increased appetite and weight gain is horrific. Also I am not sure was remeron but experienced lethargy throughout day while on this med  :)

Click to report rating    8/4/05   5     5     5     5   This is a really good drug for sleep and major depression. Take it at night because it will make you drowsy. Do not operate equipment or machinery while taking this medication. Even the generic form, mirtazipine, works well and is remarkably cheaper, almost 80 % cheaper in fact.  :)
